BBVA Compass named top volunteer company for 2014-15 school year

BBVA Compass volunteers spent a considerable amount of time teaching Junior Achievement during the 2014-25 school year. The company participated in JA in a Day at four schools and impacted 1,823 students!

BBVA Compass taught JA in a Day at the following schools:

  • September 25: Hyde Grove Elementary
  • October 17: Sallye B. Mathis Elementary
  • November 20: Highlands Elementary
  • May 14: Biscayne Elementary

“Our team of employee volunteers had never executed financial education events of this scale and magnitude,” said Jennifer Wagner, global wealth management associate.  Jennifer worked with the JA staff to ensure each JA in a Day was seamless from start to finish.

“A majority of our volunteers said it exceeded their expectations and in fact, many of our employees have expressed interest in teaching JA again!” she said. “The joy on the children’s faces and the personal satisfaction of knowing we helped make a difference in their lives is priceless.”
