JA Girl$ legacy award Susan Towler

JA president Steve St. Amand with Susan Towler, JA Girl$ Legacy Award recipient.

We presented our first-ever JA Girl$ Legacy Award to Susan Towler of the Florida Blue Foundation. When our president, Steve St. Amand, initially went to Susan and Blue Cross Blue Shield (now Florida Blue) with an idea and a proposal for funding a girls’ financial literacy program, Susan believed in the JA Girl$ program from the start.

Thanks to our supportive Board of Directors and a strong Jacksonville community, we will continue to bring programs in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship to girls and young women in Jacksonville.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Florida Blue Conference Center to support and celebrate the JA Girl$ program, and to all the volunteers, agencies, and schools who have helped bring the program to more than 16,000 girls and young women since 2006.

Three years from now will mark the 10th Anniversary of $mart Women Make Change! and we could not be more excited for the future of the JA Girl$ program.
