There are endless possibilities for innovative learning through Junior Achievement programs, with many experiences that students will always remember. Second-grade students at Bennett Woods Elementary in Okemos received an extra special treat last week from a very special JA volunteer!
JA of Mid-Michigan Advisory board chair, Chuck Maniaci has been teaching JA classes for 33 years. This time, he decided to take his JA lesson one step further… After the students designed their donuts for the Sweet O’ Donuts shop in the JA Our Community program, Chuck took their creative designs to a local Tim Horton’s. Manager Chance Newman was excited to help bring some of their ideas to life. Donuts included a bread donut with peanut butter and jelly, a grape-filled donut with chocolate fudge and rainbow sprinkles, and a University of Michigan donut with blue frosting on the outside and yellow on the inside.
