Ms. Ragase had Junior Achievement programs in her class for three years straight when she taught 6th grade social studies at Twin Lakes Middle School.
Now a 3rd grade teacher at Highlands Elementary, she was excited to have Junior Achievement in her classroom once again for JA in a Day. During the lunch break she recalled how powerful JA was to her 6th grade students, who are now in their early 20’s:
“[The JA lessons] gave the students a global look as opposed to the bubble they’re living in,” she said. “It gave them an outlook on routes they can take for jobs. Some of these students took finance and economic routes in college based on what they learned in Junior Achievement. They learned a lot they wouldn’t have been able to learn through me.”
